Title

Boosting network research for the benefit of people with neurodevelopmental disorders and their families: European perspectives

Biosketch

Paul OLIVIER holds a PhD in Developmental Physiology from the University of Paris. His research has focused on the characterisation of animal models mimicking lesions in the cerebral white matter of the human premature infant and on strategies for the neuroprotection of young children. This work has led to some twenty scientific publications in internationally peer-reviewed journals. After a break during which he participated in the national coordination of a private sector company network, Paul OLIVIER joined the Groupement d'Intérêt Scientifique Autisme et Troubles du Neuro-Développement (GIS Autisme et TND) as project manager. Under the direction of Professor Catherine BARTHELEMY, a child psychiatrist and physiologist, he is involved in the structuring, development and implementation of the scientific activities of this research network. Supported by the National Strategy for Autism within the TND, the GIS Autisme et TND is a consortium federating more than 100 French research teams, widely connected at the international level. This collective effort is a concrete expression of the desire to develop knowledge on neurodevelopment and its disorders. The advances made now allow the emergence of innovative practices based on science, at the service of the people concerned and their families
